DESCRIPTION: Responsible for complete electrical assembly of machines per RWC’s and customer’s specifications. Identifies product problems and coordinates with necessary departments to arrive at solution. Performs incidental welding and burning necessary during assembly of machine. Operates all machinery assigned to Technician and Resource Departments. Provides service in customer plant. Directs machine setup in customer plant to job specifications. Performs installation of necessary field changes. Reviews necessary guarding and safety requirements with team and Supervisor to ensure equipment is thoroughly guarded prior to shipment. Assists with guarding as pertains to electrical aspects. Lays out and wires control panels, push button boxes, and LED displays, etc., and installs on machines. Interprets all electrical diagrams to identify components and their functions in the circuit. Determines from diagrams the type of device and mounts in proper location. Designs and installs brackets for control panels, limit switches, cams, etc. Estimates length of wire runs and pulls and terminates wire runs. Mounts, identifies, and tags all electrical devices. Performs continuity test. Assists management with training and development of less-experienced members within classification.
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 8-10 years experience in leading crews in specialized automated assembly and welding machinery for the major appliance and and automotive industry is preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to pass state approved written and hands on test to effectively operate fork truck and floor operated overhead crane. Must possess basic computer skills and ability to adapt to all applicable software required in machine build electrical process. Must possess effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to work with employees, as well as customers and vendors. Must be able to travel and work independently. Must perform electrical responsibilities in a safe manner. Must possess knowledge and ability to read and interpret detailed drawings. Must be able to pass ELEC1 Test.
